Their names came together to form Suta, and serendipitously, “suta” also means thread in Bengali - the very essence of what they set out to weave. What began with threads and stories has become a movement that now lives in your wardrobes, your celebrations, and your memories.

Su, the Brain, and Ta, the Heart, built Suta like warp and weft - one gave it direction, the other gave it soul. Together, they dared to turn overlooked mul into a revolution. And today, when you drape Suta, you wear not just fabric but a vision, a heartbeat, a story.

When we started in 2016 with two weavers and a dream, the goal was never “how big can we get?” - it was “how many lives can we touch?” Today, with over 17,000 artisans and weavers across India, that dream has only grown deeper roots.

For us, weaving is not just a craft. It’s dignity, it’s heritage, it’s the chance for a woman to send her child to school, for a man to carry forward his family’s loom, for entire communities to feel valued again. Every thread we sell carries a story of hope, of someone who now stands taller because their art has meaning in the world.

People often ask if we are a sustainable brand. The truth is, we are something more grounded, more real. We are mindful. Mindful in how we source, how we work, how we design.
